Punnett Squares and planning your breedings
So you have color tested your cats. Whats next? The best thing to do is sit down with pen and paper and figure your breedings out. If you are trying to get specific colors you will need to know how to figure out what you may get. Here is a short run through of punnet squares.
This first square represents the parents that carry dilute represented as (d). Dilute is a recessive gene so the cat needs to carry d/d to express the diluted color blue. In this square you can see you have a 25% chance of D/D(do not carry d), 50% chance of being D/d, and a 25% chance of being d/d (dilute).

Here's another square to go over. This square represents a parent that carries (a) non-agouti A/a and a parent that is melanistic a/a.
This results in all offspring carrying (a) non-agouti and 50% being melanistic a/a.
